Richard vanRyan is a tyrant, he works hard and plays even
harder. Katharine Elliot works for Richard, and takes everything he throws at
him as she has to look after her elderly aunt.
Richard has had enough of working hard and not
getting farther in the company, and when he decides to work for the competition
he realises he will have to show that he has turned his life around.
He asks Katharine to pretend to be his girlfriend,
things soon spiral out of control, and the sparks fly between the two.
This was a quick read for
me, the characters are both likable, and both of them have compelling back
stories. It is one of those stories where you can guess the outcomes of their
predicament, but still very enjoyable. Just what you need to help get out of a
reading slump or if you don’t want to get too tangled up with a complex plot
