What a wonderful debut for this author. I absolutely
adored the story, and fell in love with the characters.
Victoria is a twenty-four year old who has
run away from something that happened to her. When she lands in Istanbul she is
hurried into a last minute job where she meets Alkan, a Turkish businessman. The
two of them have a “Will they, won’t they” relationship which keeps you
guessing to the end.
I loved that there was a South African flair in the
story, each time Victoria spoke about the wineland’s in Stellenbosch I could
picture it in my mind. The shocking realisation about why Victoria ran away
from South Africa was heart-breaking, and the way the characters came together
was so sweet.
The end did break my heart, and caused me to yell
(internally) at the book in the middle of a packed doctor’s office. Definitely
can’t wait for the next installment in this story.
